I loved this Kdrama alot. Ha Ji Won 하지원 just shined. I loved Jang Geun Suk  장근석 as her first love. I heard the film version with Song Hye Gyo is not as good. I watched this drama twice! The costumes, music and acting were top notch.  The OST rocks and listening to this song reminds me of this great drama!

This MV 나쁜사람 (Bad Man) by Paek Ji Young 백지영 is lovely.

태양 Tae Yang  aka Sol (of Big Bang 빅뱅) song 나만 봐라바 Look At Me has a nice RB sound with Shin Min Hee  신민희 as the object of Tae Yang’s affections. She was in “I Really Really Like You” and is currently Chulsoo’s sis in 스타의 연인 Star’s Lovers.

Big Bang 빅뱅 is one group I like from South Korea. I like this video (2007) Last Farewell 마지막 인사as Lee Dong Gun 이동건 makes a cameo off their second mini Album “Hot Issue”.  They tend to have a catchy beat and much more talented than Wondergirls 원더걸스.I have not seen him in dramas since the last one with Kim Sunah last year. He had a hard year in 2008 losing his brother who was fatally stabbed in Australia.

Another note, T.O.P (aka Choi Seunghyun 최승현 or Tempo) will be on Family Outing  패밀리가 떴다 this coming weekend! He caused a stir with the orchestrated kiss at with  South Korean diva Lee Hyori 이효리 back in November during her performance.

Son Ho Young 손호영came out with this song in OCT off his second solo effort and here it is “I Know”.  It is very Usher wannabe with the pop synthesizer and R&B riffs. Plus he does the requisite dancing and the hair is a bit too long (a la Bae Yong Jun  배용준 I think.) It has some quick appearances in the MV by Jang Geun Suk 장근석  (I loved him in Hwanjini not so much in Hong Gil Dong) and ballad king Tim 팀. I first saw him in an ad shoot with Shinae in one episode of “We Got Married” 우리 결혼했어요. He is from one of the fave all time Kpop groups g.o.d  (Groove Over Dose) that started out in 1999.

So I am watching an old drama with Gong Yoo 공유 (Suh Gun) and Sung Yuri 성유리 (Ha Neul /Hae Won) 어느 멋진 날 “One Fine Day”  好的一天 / 精彩的一天 from 2006.  Both leads play brother/sister (not blood related but united by marriage) who are separated once their parents pass away. Then 15 years later they are reunited. Circumstances cause them problems. Also Lee Yeon Hee 이연희 is Hyo Joo who grows up with Gun  and she has a life threatening heart condition. ( Side note, she is currently in EAST OF EDEN 에덴의 동쪽 and supposedly dating her co-star Song Seung Hun 송승헌 -lucky gal!)

The music is lovely and the first part of the drama was filmed in Australia. Gong Yoo’s English was passable-at least better than Lee Jun Jin 이정진 or 김래원 Kim Rae Won’s 2004 Drama  in “Love Story in Harvard” 러브스토리 인 하버드 . But this drama brings back the sister/brother forbidden relationship angle that has been found in other dramas along with the fatal illness aspect as well. Despite it, I don’t mind watching this drama. After 커피프린스 1호점, I loved Gong Yoo 공유 in it.

I am halfway through this drama, I love the OST. Asian dramas sure know how to pick great songs.

After watching episode 7 of Hong Gil Dong, I have not been able to get this song out of my head. I find am humming it alot. Oh my! The song was very appropriate for that scene.  When Hong Gil Dong (Kang Ji Hwan)강지환 姜至奂 leaves  Heo Yi Nok (Sung Yuri) 성유리 成宥利 to save her from being hurt as he being pursued he knocks her out. He knows if he does not, she will follow him.
